John Holt

As Partner of Canyon Creek, John draws on more than two decades of experience in commercial real estate and private equity investment management, helping guide the firm’s strategic direction and investment platform.

He brings a proven track record in structuring and managing opportunistic and value-add real estate strategies across multiple cycles.

Before joining Canyon Creek, John co-founded BridgeCap Partners, a Fort Worth–based asset management firm focused on industrial real estate, logistics operating companies, and distressed assets, managing approximately $215 million AUM prior to its sale in 2025.

Previously, he co-founded Woodside Capital Partners, a real estate private equity fund manager that deployed over $178 million in equity into distressed assets.

Earlier in his career, John served as Director of Structured Finance for Calmwater Capital (now Karlin Real Estate), where he helped raise more than $200 million in debt capital.

He also held senior roles in investment sales and asset management at C-III Realty Services, where he executed over $1 billion in commercial real estate transactions nationwide.

Beyond his professional work, John is deeply committed to social impact. He co-founded and serves as President of Le Pont International (A Bridge to Africa), a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to transforming lives and communities across Sub-Saharan Africa.

John earned his MBA from Rice University and a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University.
